Marco
Zeno asked A.Palladio to build his new dwelling place near Treviso;
likely soon after
1554 Zeno family boasts very old origins.
They were among the richest Venetian aristocrats ;
as a matter of the fact Marco 's father, Girolamo, held an important
public office as Procuratore di San Marco. The villa it still owned
by the lineal descendents of Zeno family. The general layout of
the villa with the wide open yard resembles that of Saraceno villas,
in Finale di Agugliano and Pojana Maggiore, just Like the villa
at Pojana, Marco Zeno's villa has got arcades adjoining the main
body of the manor, linking it with the outbuildings (Barchesse).
The peculiarity of the villa is the singular reversal of the elements
in the facades : the back one has a loggia, the front one is smooth
but for a sort of chessboard o windows.
