Environment and climate
The imposing outline of the mountains to the north rise like a precious gift from nature, defending the estate from the cold winds which often hit this area, helping to create a closed, protected microclimate. This microclimate is ideal during the growth period of the vine as it accompanies and sustains the development of the bunches of grapes and the maturation of the grapes themselves. The right balance between wet and dry spells, with an annual rainfall of approximately 900mm, concentrated above all in autumn and a brief part of summer, together with a wide temperature range between day and night, even during the summer months, gives depth to the grapes’ aroma and lengthens the period of maturation. Harvesting begins at the end of September and lasts for the entire month of October.
